Aliens, UFOs, And Area 51: Donald Trump’s Stance On Space So Far

While conspiracy theories are floating around about aliens, UFOs, and Area 51, President-elect Donald Trump seems to remain quiet on the issue. However, Trump has made his priorities clear even during the rally.

On December 3, Miami Observatory in Florida streamed a video feed of the lunar surface. A disc-shaped object was spotted crossing the moon, and alien hunters believe that it could be a UFO.

The UFO experts explained that the disc has an other-worldly feel and that it certainly is not man-made, a report by the Sun stated.

“It’s not a man-made object, because there are not solar panel wings on it to gather energy. There are no antennas on it for transmitting, also the surface is not completely round, but has a rough edge to it. Looks like a bio-mechanically grown UFO,” Scott C Waring, from UFO Sightings Daily, revealed.

During his election rally speech, Donald Trump made it clear that if he were to become president, he would issue a clear mandate to NASA to focus on space exploration.

Trump Cabinet To Assemble White House Space Council

According to a recent news report by the Wall Street Journal, Trump and his cabinet are on the verge of resurrecting a White House space council. This will be chaired by Vice President-elect Mike Pence. However, there is no clarity so far on the staff that needs to be deployed. The objective of the council is to closely coordinate civilian and military rocket programs.

Sen. Jeff Sessions, the Alabama Republican who will be nominated as the attorney general, will play a huge role in formulating space programs.

According to the WSJ report, Sessions has heavily influenced the makeup of NASA’s transition team.

Candidates for NASA administrator also are being vetted by Sessions and his associates. Officials at Boeing Co. and other aerospace companies say that Sessions will alter the functioning of NASA, which might hurt existing, big-ticket projects that look at sending astronauts to Mars.

According to the Inquisitr, sources close to Trump said that he wants NASA to ditch Mars plans and instead focus on space exploration. Trump said he is also keen on visiting Jupiter’s moon Europa.

According to a report by Time, although Trump has acknowledged that America has led the world in space exploration, he feels there is more to be done.

In a New Hampshire town hall meeting last November, he said, “In the old days, NASA was great. Right now, we have bigger problems. We have to fix our potholes.”

Responding to a question about NASA funding last year, Trump said, “Our first priority is to restore a strong economic base to this country. Then, we can have a discussion about spending.”

Robert Walker, the senior advisor for Trump campaign, has some rich insights to offer. Walker, who was the former chairman of the U.S. House Science, Space, and Technology Committee and former chairman of the Commission on the Future of the U.S. Aerospace Industry, said that the U.S. needs sufficient funds to realize its space program.

U.S. Needs To Be On Par With China And Russia

“While the American government’s space program has suffered from under-investment, both China and Russia continue to move briskly forward with military-focused initiatives. Each continues to develop weapons explicitly designed, as the Pentagon has noted, to ‘deny, degrade, deceive, disrupt, or destroy’ America’s eyes and ears in space. To maintain our strategic advantage in space and defend our troops and homeland, we must re-invigorate our space program,” he said in his op-ed on Space News.

It remains to be seen if Trump will provide NASA with the necessary budget to carry out programs that interest existing NASA scientists.
