Briggs Library is out of this world with UFO presentation

Is the truth really out there?

For those who are still on the edge of delving deeper into the reality of UFOs, everyone is invited to the presentation, “Why UFOs Matter,” at 2 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 13 at Briggs Lawrence County Public Library in Ironton.

Presented by Ironton native, Chris Parsons, Community Engagement Coordinator with MUFON (the Mutual UFO Network), the free presentation will feature a discussion of the phenomenon of unidentified flying objects (UFOs), the history, sightings, investigations and more with lots of time for questions and answers.

His interest in the subject of UFOs began early in his life when he witnessed a shiny, metallic object hovering in the summer sky of southern Ohio.

Parsons also sits on the board of directors of the State of Ohio MUFON Chapter, as well as serving as a field investigator. MUFON is an American-based non-profit organization that investigates cases of alleged UFO sightings. It is one of the oldest and largest civilian UFO-investigative organizations in the United States, seeking answers to that most ancient question, “are we alone in the universe?”

A frequent speaker to community groups and presenter at public libraries, Parsons has a broad interest in many topics including quantum physics, consciousness and social dynamics. A graduate of Marshall University, Parsons currently resides in Hilliard, Ohio.

The Ironton library is located at 421 S. Fourth St. For information call 740-532-1124.

September is National Library Card Sign-Up Month. Apply for a card for everyone in the family at any Briggs Library location. A picture I.D. and proof of address is required for adults. Custodial adults with a valid library card can apply for children under age 18.
